hi we are new to oz!!!

hi i just wondered if anyone could tell me what the 4xd park in kurnell
is like i.e level of off roading if there is any

as me and my partner are new to oz we have just moved here two weeks ago and are just looking for places to go and explore we are at the moment driving a 1999 disco which is our only car at the moment so we would prefer minimal damage but hopefully if all goes well our defender 90 200tdi should be joining us in january.

then we will be up for a lot more, our main objective is to meet other landrover freeks and to get out and explore this beautifull country you guys live in..

    thanks

Not aware of any 4wd parks near Kurnell.

You're not thinking of the National Park I hope, don't venture off the tar in there..

Used to be able to drive on the sand-dunes in Kurnell, but I haven't done that for about 25 yrs. Not sure whether you still can.

They'll be plenty of trips in the new year. It'll be great to see a 90 in action.

    Regards

You must be talking about boat harbour. It is a nice beach with small waves so very family friendly, they charge something like $15 for the day or even 2min for that matter.

As for 4wding goes the disco will have no prob. Have some fun on the dunes then hit the surf.

Yes, there is one, Max. The 4WD mags use it for a lot of their testing. I think it's called Boat Harbour 4WD Park.

Late edit: I've found it. Go to http://www.ourshire.com.au/suburbs/ select Kurnell then Cronulla 4WD Park (it's also known as Holts 4WD Park). Oh, they use a yellow Rangie in their pix.

    Hi and welcome,
Not really on topic, but why Sydney?
There are much nicer (and cheaper) places to live in Oz and most are close (er) to excellent 4x4, touring and camping country.
Not being condescending or unwelcoming, just plugging other bits of the land
I have probably just asked for the wrath of many learned AULRO members who live in Sydney but the truth is a bitter pill!

    Regards and welcome

OK, I'll respond. I was born here in Sydney and spent most of my life here.

There are far better places than Sydney. It's a great place to visit and an even better one to get away from.

Almost anywhere else in Oz would be better and cheaper to live in.
