some would say every 10,000kms......

others would say if your tyres are wearing unevenly......

realisticaly....you wouldnt even think of a wheel alignment unless there was
some sort of problem...like the car pulling to one side...vague steering....
tracking...uneven tyre wear....new tyres fitted....just had steering work done....etc....

it should be done regularly but then the good ol theory of if it aint broke comes good....

if there is nothing wrong...dont start moving things around...you may cause a problem....

of course there are cars out there that just need to be aligned every two weeks....
(anyone drive a falcon...?)

a bump or pothole can knock the alignment out.....so its bad enough on our roads.....
can you imagine what happens off road....?
obviously you cant get it aligned everytime you hit a bump.....

so just do it if there is a problem or you fit front tyres.....
or if you do any steering work that would change the geometry of the wheels...
such as replace a tie rod end or suspension lift or mod......

As Tony says.

The Land Rover has only one of the three steering geometry parameters that is readily adjustable and that is the toe in/toe out. Camber and Castor are closed shop when it comes to fiddling with a spanner.

Toe in/Toe out is a basic and simple adjustment that doesn't require scientific instruments. A tape measure and chalk will do the job.

The other causes of steering misalignment are bent components like track rods

as the fella's above said, it really only needs doing if you have bent something (or think you may have). Of course with the stock Land Rover pieces of spaghetti, this could happen relatively easily and you not know it.
As I'm a slack sod, and have Maxi drag link and track rod, I haven't done mine for a looong time (years). ops:

The guys in the business recon every year but I would go with the sujestion of when things don't look, feel right or uneven tyre wear.

every year is pretty much correct......but if all is well and you take it in for alignment....
and you get some clown that has no idea......it could come back worse....

and then it begins....take it back again.....test it again....waste more of your time....
you get the message......oh..and spend dollars..bigger dollars because its bigger than a car...
even though there is less to adjust.....and a lot easier to do the job than on a car....

and its all for nothing.....all was well before you fixed it....
