Ive had the misfortune to fit a clutch to one. They are not a popular option thank goodness as they are problematic.... read the uk forums...😮

Apparently LR RSA did a D4 that was similar to the D3 S, with manual and no EAS.

A friend who was a dedicated manual driver test drove a manual D3 (from a cancelled order - they were special order only) ended up buying an auto as it didn't seem to be a good match for the engine

There are a few guys on the forum who have them and reckon they are ok. I have only driven one manual D3, but I was towing a heavy trailer (back to back with an auto D3 with the same trailer) and the auto was better in this case. It reminded me of driving my manual D1 - you need to give it some herbs to get off the line, while making sure you don't burn out the clutch. Lots of info on the UK forums about manual D3's with many saying the clutch is too small for the size of the vehicle. I reckon if you don't flog it you wouldn't have too many issues.
