    Rangie and injected 4.4?

    Hi all

Just have a couple questions for the forum experts regarding an upcoming project.

I'm looking at buying a late 80's vogue but the engine is getting a little tired. I have access to a 4.4 in pretty good shape and was wondering how hard it is to install with the standard 3.5 fuel injection system. I intend putting it on gas eventually.......is it better to stick with the efi or should i go for a carby (if thats possible).

I notice there are a couple of people on here with the conversion already done and was wondering how the emission control regs went when trying to compliance it considering the age of the 4.4. I figured that if I stuck to the original injection system (swapping heads etc) then it shouldn't be too much of a drama.

lastly...should I forget about the 4.4 and go for a later 3.9.......is that an easier option.

thanks in advance for any replies. cheers

If you're going to gas it, then why bother with efi?

From what I have have read (here & elsewhere) that gas & efi don't mix that well. (Well they do if everything goes well).
Gas explosions in the plenum causes many problems!

If you're going to inject gas, then that's a different story (very expensive).

I'd stick with carbies if gas is your plan.
Very crude and simple, but effective (and cheap)!
