See my post under TD5 Oil Pump Bolt yesterday. I have a Disco, not sure if the same problem has occurred in the Defenders, but being that they have pretty much the same motor and build date, I'd get the bolt checked out. All it is is that Land Rover did not use Loctite on the bolt when putting the motors together early in the series, and the bolt, over time, works its way loose, leading to catastrophic results i.e. seized motor. Mine's stuffed and a new one costs $18K installed.

Anyway, worth a phone call or a check with your local LR bloke.

Do a search in this forum - the question has been answered before and there are real issues to check out.
