    Remapping a D4 SDV6, any experience?

    Guys,

Has any of you remap his/her 3.0 SDV6 256bph engine?

    Pros and Cons?

I did it on my Disco 2 Td5 and the car was running much better. And cruising up to 120 kph was even more efficient.

Is it worth on the D4?

    Thanks

    Nic

On an SDV6 you can get more but the biggest gain in engine longevity is closing EGR via tuning.

    Wink Tuning in Perth

    Hello,
I've had my Discovery 4, 2012 3.0 re-flashed. 100% better, no throttle lag and pulls more strongly through the rev range.
Now feels like a 3.0ltr twin turbo should with good throttle response and more torque, atleast by the seat of your pants anyway.
Ask Rover-Tech for details of tuning, I think the name is Auto Code, he's just up the road from them in Bently. Also closed EGR valves when re flashing ECU.
Significantly cheaper than the other options i looked at also.
Mine has also somehow lost the big muffler and secondary cat unit underneath , I've kept the twin rear section of the factory exhaust with the resonators.
It is a little louder when you put the boot in, i like the sound, but very little noise difference in normal use. I think this also helped with improving the response and feel of the engine.

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

I've done the re-tune and EGR emulators from Autocode and I'm happy with the results. I have a MY16 TDV6 and it has more oomph than the SDV6 without the price tag.

Wouldn't closing the EGR on a vehicle still under warranty give them grounds for denying any claims for engine faults? I want this on my MY16 but think I'll wait until after the warranty period.
Darren from Aztech showed me the **** in an 3ltr engine with a normal EGR and there's no way I want that in my motor. I had it done on the Puma with a remap and believe it's beneficial to the engines longevity.
