Aux input for radio on D3

My disco has the basic CD400 radio which has supposedly 3 inputs - radio, CD and aux.
I have RTFM and whilst it mentions AUX, it does not say where the actual input is????
I've pushed, pulled, poked and sworn all around the radio and center console and cannot find (I assume a 3.5mm) plug anywhere.
    Can anyone help?

    That elusive extra input.

That Aux Input may be hiding behind the radio, on a fly lead and not yet brought out in to the glovebox area.

On the back there might also be a couple of outputs for an external amp.
The input may be alongside those, or, be in with the wires coming from the plug that has all the power and speaker connections.

Either way, it will be in the form of a "Two hot wires and a shield surround, wrapped up in a plastic outer", as opposed to single multi-strand wires.

If of a figure 8 cross-section, then it will probably be twin RCA plugs/sockets, or if a single sheilded cable it will be a stereo 3.5mm connector.

    Happy listening.

Yes, I have written about this a long time ago somewhere with instructions (check also Disco3). You find the Aux input wires at the back. I have a 3.5mm jack tapped in that pops out in the lower tray part of the console. I then have a Belkin amp / charger / iPod adaptor that plugs into the 12V socket. That unit is out of production now as I eventually found one on Amazon in US when last one expired. Works a treat with great sound and can adapt to new IPhone plug but does not charge.

I checked and old links on instructions have disappeared. Another trick was that that there is a phone interrupt lead (yellow?) at the back of the head unit. I have this connected to a Parrot hands free that plays through the speakers. Mutes stereo during call. In addition you can add the steering wheel controls for a great and cheap upgrade.

Our D3 and D4 has the aux input at the back of the centre console next to the power outlet for the rear seat.
