To colour code or not to colour code

I have just moved from a fully equipped Land Cruiser to a Discovery 4 MY16.5 TDV6. I know there is hours of "discussions" around a camp fire about that shift in vehicle. But to the point of this post.

I want to fit an ARB bull bar (Summit bar) but do I get it colour coded?

Now the kicker, my D4 is Santorini Black. I know powder coating is black but it's not the same shade.

Does anyone have a Santorini Black Disco that has a colour coded bar?

    My thoughts/question:
    • Worth the price difference
    • Look ( I want a real show piece, best options, make the Toyota / Nissan drivers question their life choices)
    • or take the bull bar, rock sliders and roof rack and match the colour of the powder coating later

No. Get it colour matched or colour coordinated.

Colour codes are used to indicate variations or sizes, etc., e.g., resistor colour codes, wiring colour codes.

I don't think the Roo's really worry too much about the colour of the bull bar they run into, Anyway in a year or so it will be covered in bugs and scratches and you will be wondering why you spent all those extra quids colour matching the bar in the first place.

I would get it the same as the car with black. (i.e. Not powder coated)

Agree with the others - if the vehicle were any other colour it would be a flip of the coin, but the powder coated black will look wrong against the black of the vehicle if you don't get it matched.

I am not a fan of the all black look (particularly wheels). Are there any other significant colours on the car that you could match to highlight the bar ?

Always get it colour coded. I have a Fuji White D4. So glad I got the ARB bar colour code matched.
