    Hi Dion
    Have you tried supercrap????
May be worth a look, should only need to measure both your open and closed lengths.
In our falcoon wagon and now our Trytoo we make up a brace from wood and just stick it in when open,at least the wind wont slam it down on your head.

I just bought a set from a strut manufactuer on eBay. Figured they'd be better than the supercrap ones. $54 incl delivery, can't complain!

I'm 6'8" tall so really want to keep that tailgate up nice and high 8)

They generally all come from a similar supplier and the Supercrap ones are as good as any other.
