    Wiper blades

My Silblades that I bought back in 2011 are in need of replacement. Anyone know of an Australian supplier, or an alternative brand?

    Hi,
I heard the Si blades gripped too well and would chatter.
I got a pair of large generic ones from Repco an pulled the rubber out of one to cut in half and threaded them into each of the Defender wipers.
Only cost a few $ and is a few minutes to do.
    Cheers

Been pretty happy with my Silblades. I don't think the springs are strong enough on my wipers to cause the chattering. Might need to look at a cheaper set this weekend.

These chaps might still have them
    Exclusive AULRO Silblade Introductory Offer

but you will have a tough time walking off the street to get Silicone blades any where.
Apparently they where causing the sales outlets a lot of bother, but couldn't get ant further comment than that.

I thought mine were great but haven't been able to get them in store for a few years.

I have had multiple sets of silblade wipers, mine worked well for a few months, then started to fall apart.
You can buy silicon wiper blades from Big W for approx $8.99.
They last a lot longer than the expensive silblade brand, and they seem to do the job as well if not better than the silblade ones.
Big W sell them in either white or black colour.
They are a multi fit size of either 6mm or with the black plastic holder that they come in, an 8mm (defender size), I just cut the blade and the plastic holder to the required length (being careful to leave the bit on the end to clip it to the wiper mechanism).

That's where I got my last set, but that user has had no activity on the forum since 2013. Might try the Big W jobs.
