Has anyone used the Henrob 2000 gas welder

G'day all and best of Australia Day,

I have a restoration project and need to do some welding of L'Rover parts.
On watching a video on the gas welder decided to buy one and give it a go. Never done any welding before and it seems to give a decent penetration and weld but my welding is not consistant. I believe the setting of gas pressures is the most important to get the welder to work well.

Is there anyone around Sydney who has used one of these welders and willing to give me some instruction. Probably take an hour or so. The technique is not the same as a normal oxywelding.

Is this like the Dillon welder that was round about 20 years ago? if it is my ole man knows a bit bout them...

It is the Dillon welder (Australian invention) now marketed and owned in USA. as the Henrob 2000.

we might be able to help each other out here.
i havent used one but i cant see that it can be much different from
tig and gas welding. you are still mixing gasses to create a liquid
metal pool to which a filler rod would be used.

if you want we could experiment, i assume you have
a manual or vdo for it??

I have used Henrob torches for at least 10 years, however not for welding.

I can tell you they are an excellent torch. Well made and very reliable. Maybe a little pricey though at about $500 last time I checked.
