    D4 & 1.9m car park

    hi all,

Need to access a garage in a unit dwelling with 1.9m height, with Disco in access height will i fit under or not? Have not had a chance to measure the roof height as yet but know i can fit under 2.1m with normal ride height. Anyone know for sure? thanks

My D4 2013 manual says 1888 mm so theoretically yes it will but that's awfully close You also need to take account of roof rails and/or DAB aerial if fitted. The other thing to be cautious about is whether the entry is flat or you have a slope into the garage before the door as that would effectively reduce the height of the entrance so to speak. My suggestion would be to drive up to the door and get out and have a look before going in. It also could be that the sign indicate the lowest point in the garage rather than the doorway.

My RRS has the height information for access height listed on the drivers sun visor - doesn't the D4 have that?

Here are the D3 heights. Couldnt find D4 tables, though it should be similar if not the same, and should also be in the owners manual

And a pic from another website showing a similar dimension for the D4

Dont forget that once in access mode, hold the button down to lock it in access mode

If your close and need a little bit more, then air down the tyres , ( just like when those stupid truck drivers that get caught under bridges. air down and become unstuck )

This is a VERY good piece of advice if it's a tight fit!!!

My D4 (no shark's fin antenna, but with low profile Rhino tracks, and sports cross bars) always fits under 1.90 carparks if it is in access height, but there is a carpark which is marked as 1.90 where the entry is down a driveway, and it very gently scrapes the bottom of the height indicator bar (causing it to swing on the chain).

    Thumbs up

My D4 with Pioneer rack on backbone rails with HD Accessory Cross Bars is the same as eddomak's and ever so gently scrapes the height bar on a 1.9m car park with the car in access height mode.
