Mid to late 90ies Defender 110 Anti Roll Bars

    Hello Mates,

I have a 97 Defender 3 door station wagon I am rebuilding. I bought it and started stripping it to rebuild the first day I got it, I never drove it. It has a 2" lift and almost all the provisions for anti roll bars, except for the front saddle bracket mounts on the chassis.

I have read that these has to be extended by 1" to accommodate a 2" lift, so I will make them for the front with an extra inch than the originals and extend the existing rear ones. What I would like to know if if anyone has pics or the measurements on the chassis where they have to be welded please, has anyone built and installed any here.

I intend to keep the lift since I am in the tropics and it can flood here really badly. I do not intend to off road with it so restrictive articulation will not be an issue for me.

BTW, I did a search here and did not come up with anything much.

    Thanks.

I have a 96 defender, I removed the anti roll bars and never noticed much difference, one of the reasons was that at articulation the rear would invert anyway...

The PO has what looks like Brit Part HD springs installed on it, they are huge and I am sure be way too rough. I was thinking of going with something less harsh, maybe its better to wait until the landy is on the road and take it from there. With the springs it has now it should not be leaning in turns anyway but since the engine and gear box is out, it might have been easier to fabricate the anti roll bar saddle mount brackets anyway.

If possible, can you take the front measurement for me from a given reference point and possibly pics please? Thanks.

    Cheers.

Unfortunately my vehicle is in Australia and I am in Madagascar for a few more months, I would wait and see.
Though suspect many more have done without, they were not always factory fitted.
