Thanks Jim. Looks like Paint Factory is a one off but I can certainly ask at my local paint shop, and others if need be. I know they've previously told me they can match house colours from a spec of paint. I may as well have a chat with an auto panel shop as well. I haven't got one at present that I trust but a chat about what has happened may be fruitful.
I'm still trying to get my head around what exactly has happened.
On a typical car if you had a problem you'd see rust, and you'd usually see why the rust started and the paint would be affected from there.
As yet I haven't seen any evidence of oxidation in the 'non steel' panels but it looks like moisture has been absorbed into the panel, and I imagine come out the panel at possibly some other point, causing the paint to lift.
Does that reasoning seem at all realistic?
and if panel is dry and paint is reapplied is there any chance of anything nasty still going on in the metal?
Cheers
Mark
