Weights are similar and the smaller factory tires on the Discos only account for a few percent in final gearing.
I have the same car and taking your foot off the clutch slowly without touching the throttle is the way to go provided the load isnt too great
As soon as you touch the throttle the ECU takes over from what I will call the anti stall this is very noticeable
