    Who said signwriters can't spell?

A spell check program wouldn't see anything wrong with this sign outside the Red Cow Hotel in Penrith. My wife noticed it this morning.

Is it only open for babies or can I have a feed as well? 8O

Not good at all, you would thing they would have noticed it when they viewed it before putting it up. Obviously not. I hope you rang them and pointed their error out ron.

What was that add for where the guy was sign writing the Broncos onto the grass at their stadium in QLD and wrote Boncos instead?

talking about signwriting errors reminds me of the signwriter in a company I worked for in the 80's. Two notable mentions were:

In a hospital his sign read: LAUNDRY SHOOT

The AMPOL sign on the driveway roof was painted: AMOL

In 1971 I was working in Carnarvon in WA. The local phone directory had an advert in the (then) Pink Pages for AWA PUBIC Address Systems. I think I've still got the advert.

Boy, you're quick. I saw it as soon as I pressed Submit and went straight back in to correct it - but you beat me to it.

I did - and the bloke didn't believe me. He had to go and check.

I doubt many saw it. I showed the pix at work and no one saw the error.

A lot of the later additions have been pulled down and the pub is being restored (as I understand it) - all as part of the new Penrith Plaza expansion which wraps around the back of it.

    One for you Ron.

Many years ago when I was a suburban train drive in Sydney, I was waiting on one of the platforms at Central to do a crew change with a train that was to terminate.

Just as the train was arriving, the station attendant ( of foreign origin ) announces “Thisa train exterminates”

Needless to say, no one got on ( most were to busy laughing )
