    Replacement Battery - reset BMS

    Hi

I've just had my cranking battery replaced (had a wet battery in there, and have just put a Varta AGM back, as per original).
The workshop manual says that the BMS should be reset after replacing the battery.
I know where to do this using my IIDtool - my question is - which battery type should I choose out of the menu options?

I'm sure I've seen some info on a post here somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't find it...

    Thanks.

If it's a Varta G14 you have fitted, they are 95 Ah and 850 cold cranking amps so choose the closest to that from the list in the CCF.

BTW, the 'list' your talking about is in the CCF file. If it's a "battery reset" your really wanting then that is found in the 'service / test' > 'BCM body control' > 'battery replacement' menu. There is no list of batteries to choose from there, just a reset function.

The point is, if you have just changed batteries you may need to make this change in 2 locations in the GAP tool menus.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done (in either location) when the battery was last changed!

    Some fun for tonight!
