INfo on military Land rovers

Hi all,
My neighbor is wanting to by one at the military auction (as a farm unit, but also to pickup cattle and sheep in trailer, but sees that the towing is only very limited and he want to tow about 2Ton and on the web site it says 1.2. Is this normal, or is there something i am missing?

I assume that you're talking about the current release of the Perenties?

The OME towing system, whilst apparently very strong , is unrated.

The rear end of the chassis, while again very strong, us unlike any factory LR, and a rated accessory towbar could be difficult to find.

For unregistered offroad use there is unlikely to be any problem

He wants to take stock to the abattoirs so will need to be registerd

There were a couple of manufacturers designing towbars but I don't know if they got engineering approvals.
