    D3 Alternator

Is there any difference between part numbers YLE500400 and LR008861?

    Thanks

I had a look and it seems the same part , I was told to only buy the Denso product not anything else , but from what I could find its referred to as the same part. I did see LR008861 was superseded with another LR number but no real mention of the YLE number.

    Not really much help.

    Cheers Ean

Of course as we know LR do not actually make alternators so you can buy the Denso alternator from your Land Rover Dealer using the LR part number LR008861 (and pay big dollars) or use the Denso Part Number YLE500400 and buy the same Denso alternator for hopefully a lot less $$$.

Be aware though some advertise the Denso alternator but they are knockoffs (Denso Style Alternators - made in Taiwan) and these have OEX number DXA588. There is nothing to indicate these knockoffs are any worse quality or cheaper price than the Denso.

First four.co.uk has Genuine LR LR008861 at $400. LR Direct has Genuine LR YLE500400 at $1062. If you search LR Direct for LR008861 you get 2 of the 6 alternators found under YLE500400 as well as well as a note saying LR008861 supersedes LR078806 which can be still purchased. Genuine LR LR078806 at $560. There must be some difference???

There was 2 diferances. 1st was the Name had Marine and 2nd was the price was lower for the same product with the word Marine in it

Sorry, nothing to add to the OP's post but SOT - I think the quoted writer is referring to silicone rather than silicon... Big difference and commonly misused.
