    Egr delete and rwc?

    I folks,
If I were to delete the egr on my td5 defender, would I have to reinstall it for a rwc later if I chose to sell?

Depends who's doing the inspection. If they're finicky, and they know Landrovers, they may know they were a factory fitment. If the removal looks stock, you may convince them that a Defender can't even spell "emissions", let alone control them!
Depending on the year model the EGR may not have been a requirement for Australia. Some homework may be needed, first. Good luck!

    EGR Delete

I fitted a welch to the body of the EGR on mine, it leaves all original parts intact.

Sounds interesting, is that like a welch plug? Would you mind elaborating?

I did this mod to my previous defender nearly 10 years ago. I removed the EGR unit, cleaned it up, measured and fitted a cup style welch plug in the Exhaust inlet of the EGR body and simply refitted the unit back to the engine. The guts of the EGR prevent the welch plug from entering the motor. I can't remember if I used something like loctite on the welch plug, but think it shouldn't matter as long as it is a good tight fit.

    Hope that helps
