Discreet/Discrete Winch Mount for 4.0 Petrol Disco 3 SE (2007)

    Hi Everyone!

    My first post since registering!

I have seen the existing posts regards installing a discrete winch mount on a D3 / D4 and am considering the Britpart DA7537 kit.

Does anyone know if there are any problems with fitting this to the 4.0 Petrol D3 as I can only find info regards the diesels?

Don't want to find that it won't fit!

I recently bought the D3 and sold my D2 after removing my Domin8rx winch. My winch is currently in the garage waiting to be fitted and was heartened by the fact that one of the discreet installations on this forum (a D4 diesel) included the same with as mine.
I now feel a bit bare going 4Wding without a winch as mine has served me very well both for self recovery, but mainly recovering others in the group.

    Glad for any help.

    Dave

The difference between diesel and petrol is the engine, body is the same so front bumper and support behind bumper should be identical unless a bull bar has been fitted

I can't answer your query, but I have no problem with your winch. Mine is great for the casual use it gets.

No, I am curious about the linguistic gymnastics in the thread title. Discreet and discrete are often incorrectly transposed. Why did you choose to label the thread thus? I am genuinely interested.

Thanks. I’ve registered with the site and tried a couple of searches but not found anything useful yet. The problem of course is that the 4.0 is only available in AU and the US.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
I know that there are issues with bull bars fitting the diesel but not the V8, so that’s why I thought I should ask about the V6 petrol and winch fitting.

Knowing the different spellings have been used in similar posts, I thought I would include both to assist others in future searches 😊

From looking on a US site there is a difference in the front where the washer bottle fits between petrol and diesel.
