What tyre will fit on D4 20 Inch rims

Apologies as this has probably been covered before many times but I have spent hours looking and cant find the answer.
I have a 2013 D4 SDV6 HSE on 20"rims what max size tyre ,mainly higher profile,will fit without modifications . At this point do not have the funds or desire to change rims.

all different sizes and brand covered. I used to have cooper zero 275/50R20, it is ok but not great depends what you are using for.

I had Nitto Terra Grappler 265/50 20 111 and now I have Monsta Terrain Gripper 265/50 20 114. Both good tyres on a 20" rim. the Nittos lasted 70K and were quiet, the Monstas are noisier but have better grip on wet roads.

I had the Nittos off-road and on the beach and was happy with their performance. I haven't used the Monstas off road yet but suspect they would be better than the Nittos. Tyres in this size don't rub. Others who have tried 285/50 report some rubbing, also strictly speaking a 285 is too wide in NSW as it is greater than 25mm I'm unsure about other states.

The Nittos can be had for $250-300, the Monstas $200-250.

I have only had the car a week or so and have not yet been off the bitumen with it. It is shod with Pirelli ZERO M&S 255/50R20 109Y that only have a few thou ks on them.
Have been playing with tyre pressure while parked in my shed and 20 PSI does not leave much rubber between rim and the road even when parked let alone flexing away when off road

The Pirellis are surprisingly good. But you have to be careful around rocks.

ive thrown 275/55/20 nitto g2's and it rubs on full lock at normal height. ill be gettig another set of wheels for offroading and putting 265/50 rubber on for every day

275/55 gives zero speedo error or spot on accurate. 6% increase in gearing though, it seems to show with heavier fuel usage..

Been going through the same research, have 20" rims also on our recently purchased 2014 Discovery but with on-road bias tyres (Maxxis HPM3's). Keen on switching to 18" in the long run but for now limited on funds, so have order some Monsta Terrain Grippers, 265/50R20's, good price, hopefully live up to the reviews, wet weather handling was one of the deciding factors.

Monsta Terrain Grappler AT
All in 265/50R20

I think the trick with 20" wheels is to use higher offroad pressures & go SLOW.

Be aware that hitting rocks, ledges etc with little sidewall is not ideal & drive accordingly.

I'll be interested in your thoughts on the Monstas when you've had them fitted.

BTW I'd prefer 18" wheels as well but...........

Thanks to all who contributed. I found the discussion helpful and timely. I needed to replace the OEM Pirellis after 45k

Narrowed down the choice to Nitto and Monsta. Ended up going for the Monsta terra grapplers in 265/50R20.

The reported wet weather issues of the Nittos combined with the high load rating of the Monsta tyres made my choice.

Got 5 tyres fitted for $200 each in Melbourne. Performing as expected (after 2 days).
