    Reliability Issues Before Taking Delivery

So after an excruciating 6 month wait since placing my order I was supposed to take ownership of my new D5 this weekend.

Unfortunately, I got a phone call from the dealer on Friday saying there was a signal fault with the front facing camera resulting in a black screen.
With the camera being a chassis specific part, I'm now looking at another two weeks for the part to be shipped over from the U.K. + installation time.

Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed. Is this a common problem or am I just super unlucky?

    Cheers, Tom

I'd be disappointed too but at least they found the issue and are fixing it before you take delivery. Imagine you taking delivery and find on your first day with the car it isn't working? That would be worse in my view.

I'd be expecting to find a pile of extra goodies in the boot!

I had a similar problem when I picked up my last new car. It was handed over with the fault and I was told to bring it back later on for repair. As to "a pile of extra goodies" as a make-up gesture - surely sir jests. After it was repaired the unit has never worked properly. Warranty you say.... to which I respond with.....what is that?
