    D4 Transmission Service in Adelaide

    Hi all.
My 2015 D4 8 speed has now done 55k kms with about 20k of that towing a 3t van so I reckon it's due for a transmission service despite what LR says. Can anyone recommend somewhere in Adelaide to do the service and any update on availability of the metal pan? I plan to keep the car long term as I don't believe there is a better tow vehicle available.
    Cheers & thanks, Jock.

If you're happy to go to an independent service centre try PCB Independent Landrover Specialists, 19 Starr Avenue, North Plympton.

The proprietor, Peter Brown, has provided good service for my MY12 D4 over a number of years, including replacing the gearbox pan with a replacement steel pan. Unfortunately ours is a six speed, not the eight speed.

I've also used Sovereign in Kent Town, and been happy with what they have done for me.

    Reason I recommend dealer...

    - Service level always been good
    - at 55k if you support the dealer they will back you with good faith if something goes wrong (in most cases).

Post 100k make your call where you go, but it’s great to have the dealer in your corner.

Plus 1 for Tombie's comment. It gets entered into the vehicle log and you never know when it comes in handy. I had mine done by them @ 55k or so and found them to be competitive on price.

Yes been very happy with Solitaire if you commit to them they tend to support you what goes around comes around. Did my D4 8 speed November last year with full flush and replacement parts and after towing our AOR Q+ 8000km around Tasmania over the last 11 weeks it has performed flawlessly

But PCB are also excellent and Peter is a very good technician as well.

We took extended warranty so will stay with Solitaire for the required stuff but Peter will get the gig for the interim services we do every 10,000km

No experience with the other guys but here good things

The pan kit alone is not far off that price....
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
