Swapping rotors...bearing question

I have a copy of the manual relating to the hub nut torque values and checking for spacers etc (Puma Defender), but do most people on a low mileage Puma just re-use the factory spacer, torque it up and call it a day? I don't want to buy a collection of spacers. If that's common I'll just pay to have it done.

When I did mine, I followed manual to use a dial gauge to check the end float.
Well. Mine was not within spec. There should be no end float, but mine has.

So I just convert the bearings to the old style two nut. torque to 10nm

As long as your not replacing your wheel bearings, then you should be able to re use the same spacer. But in the long run, especially if you want to perform repairs in the field, then as mentioned previously, you'll be better of to chuck the spacer and revert back to the more user friendly two nut and lock washer.

New to PUMA's.... I naturally thought they were the same setup as the previous defenders.... can anyone post pics so I can see the difference?

I assume this setup is on all 4 corners?

This is the best Pic i can find at the moment, borrowed from Landrover Parts. Theres several different coloured spacers ranging from 14.9mm to 15.5mm. Ive repacked my bearings, front and rear, a couple of times, and so far haven't needed to replace them. On both ocassions, Ive just re used the spacer. Though I do have a set of bearings, and locknuts on hand for when either axle needs replacing.

Thanks for that --- by removing the spacer, does that change the position of the outer bearing then?
