Qantas pilots seriously injured in vintage plane crash

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Sad proof that the remaining engine on a failed twin is there to fly the aeroplane to it's crash - site ...
    - And that was an OLD twin.

Unless of course you are lucky enough to be flying a Cheyenne!

Oh crikey. Doug Haywood trained me up to run the 747 and 767 sims a few years back. What a top bloke and Check/Training captain.
He is also actively involved in HARS. I think he flies the Caribou.
    Hope they’re all okay........

I have been contacted by a friend, who told me that both Doug and Ross were originally in comas.

Current news is that both are on the mend and the prognosis isn’t as bad as previously thought. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for both men.

That's excellent news and must be a relief for the familes. Here's for a full recovery however long it takes.

I have heard Doug and Ross are being transferred back to Australia. This is good news. Apparently Doug is responsive with hand-squeezes, while Ross is still critical.

Some other footage of the engine failure:

It appears Ross was the captain/pilot flying. Further information in the preliminary investigation report:

    Update

Latest I heard is Doug is back in Australia, while Ross is unfit to travel as yet.
