    New D5 Day 5

    Hi all just introducing myself.
New 5 day old D5 Fuji White, 5 seater, diesel TDV6, active diff and roof rails. Hopefully in time another set of compomotives, the last ones went with the D4.
As I am retired I will have to wait till the piggy bank recovers for the compos. But I will be getting the traxide setup fairly soon I hope.
Have spent the day getting very confused by some aspects of the handbook and all the technical wizardry of the electronics, and am now scratching my head trying to work out how to fit a drawer and an engel fridge side by side, into the cargo area, which was relatively simple in the D4 but is looking more complex by the hour!
Not sure about what appears to be a plastic floor in the cargo area, but love the extra space beneath it.
Back to the instruction book for me, and I will start perusing the forum for clues!
Very happy with the car so far lovely to drive.

Probably won't be getting the wheels till next year. Have a couple of trips to the UK over the next few months. Have to get my Dad in the UK over his hundredth birthday early February. I was disappointed that I could not transfer the compos from the D4, But as you say they don't fit.

Lee I would be grateful for some help, I have the drawer box that I had made for the D4 and also have the fridge slide.

I am currently scratching my head as to how to remove the plastic covers where the cargo bay rails would be placed if fitted, I have a picture of how they are secured but am not sure how to remove the screw covers. I thought perhaps levering with a fine screw driver would pop the screw covers off.
My idea is to remove the plastic rail covers, and then hopefully replace the boot space plastic lid, or whatever it is made of, with a stronger piece of ply that my drawer and the engel fridge slide can then be secured to.

I think there is not quite enough room without removing the plastic covers.
In the D4 we simply had a large piece of ply over the two rear seats that was bolted thru the bolt holes that secured the tie down loops. the drawer and the fridge slide were bolted thru that making everything very secure and without damaging anything in the car.
I opted for one larger box rather than the smaller drawers as putting a fridge on top of the smaller ones would require a box for me to stand on as I am slightly vertically challenged!

    All suggestions gratefully received.

This link might help with removing those plastic strips in the boot.

    Thanks Ron,
    That does help.
Have now obtained 2 large sheets of cardboard for pattern making purposes so some progress in the design stage.
Also have to check that my remote spare wheel winch access gadget from the D3 and D4 is long enough, nasty feeling its not.

    Hi Simon
It is correctly called Green Oval Experience
Gordon German is the person who designed and distributes the compomotive wheels in Oz for both the D4 and D5
Had the D4 wheels and they were excellent.
