    TPMS & changing the spare

    All,

Last week I had a set of 5 Scorpion plus 275/55R20 fitted. Since then I get a "TPMS spare" warning on start up. The manual states:

The TPMS automatically recognises any changes in wheel positions. The vehicle must be stationary for 15 minutes during the wheel and tyre change, to make sure that the system can detect the change. After driving above 25 km/h (16 mph), any deflation warning should clear within approximately 5 minutes.

Re-inflate the tyre, within close proximity of the vehicle, following repairs to a full size spare wheel fitted with tyre pressure monitoring. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning lamp may illuminate if tyre inflation is not carried out within close proximity of the vehicle. Should this occur, re-inflate the tyre within 5 m of the vehicle. See TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) (YELLOW) and TYRE PRESSURES.

I know the spare is inflated. So, I have to lower the spare, deflate and inflate it within 5m of the car, and wind it back up again? Surely there must be an easier way?

Followed this thread which fixed the issue. I did two short 10k drives afterwards. Same issue with the TPMS Spare warning on start up. Did a longer 80k drive and the warning has disappeared.
