Good luck with the relocation![]()
Around 6 months ago my daughter (while we were away) came home with a duckling.
As is normal the duckling has now grown into a duck.
In reality it has out grown the suburban yard and has taken to pulling up the wifes plants and gardens etc.
We've tried a few places Mogo zoo, Symbio, etc that might have had a spot for a duck with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas, of somewhere/someone that may want a duck. The daughters not keen on us just turning it loose as she says it doesn't deserve to die (I wish she had thought of this when she bought it home) in reality I agree but just want to see it gone.
So if any one knows of a place that may have a few ducks and could take another (within a few hours of Sydney) I would appreciate the info.
The Peking duck, duck stew, etc. suggestions didn't go over all that well.
HELP!!

Perhaps you could take it out to the Royal Easter Show and drop it off in one of the enclosures????
Whatever you do, do not show the following pic to your daughter, will put her of roast duck for good.
Does it have a name?

I think the Seven Mile beach caravan park may have some ducks. I know they have birds of differing varieties.
Give them a buzz.
Sorry don't remember who took the ducks of us when we were kids. Same situation as your in now. They can be mean things when they want to be.
just go for a drive through centennial park with it....and come out without it....
He'd be quite happy with us....if you could get him up here
Just dump him at a Golf Course. He'll make plenty of friends there.
We used to have the same sort of ducks when I was growing up in Annangrove ( yes I am a Sydney boy), and we had to get rid of our ducks mainly because my one Max kepting attacking my German Shepherd at the time. We knew it was only a matter of time before she lost patience and ended old Maxys life. Problem is for the life of me I cannot remember where we unloaded them. What I do remember it was a place that sold Pheasants and other sorts of game birds, and had a sanctuary at their place. Not much help really 8O ,
