    Help required in Melbourne!

Hi all, I think I’ve introduced myself briefly before but I’m a relatively young pup with limited mechanical experience, with a pretty well-refreshed 88” 2A.

I’ve spend the last week fighting with my braking system - rebuilt the CB-type master and now I cannot get it bled. Have been doing it manually because I don’t have a vacuum pump, and I’ve run out of will and time to do it, and I can’t drive it to a garage! Does anyone know a good old-skool mechanic who would come out, or does anyone want some cash to come and get it back to roadworthy?

I’m in Melbourne’s inner west, Yarraville area.

Moderators, please direct me if this is posted in the wrong place, I’m a little overwhelmed by the size of the forum 😳

    Thanks all

Have you got a old M/C cap or can you get one to suit ?

I have in the past drilled a hole in the cap and fitted a tubeless valve and pressure bled with a push bike pump

I still have a cap with valve but not sure it will suit your M/C .
The cap i have will suit a Defender type clutch M/C , I have a SWB S111 so will see how it fits

Im in Narre Warren and could possibly come over after xmas day and help but my time would be brief as i only have the main week off .

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have the original reservoir with the clutch master reservoir down the centre, and the brake fluid around the outside. No spare cap.

I’ll be around on Boxing Day but probably back to work on the 27th. Otherwise evenings.
Let me know if you have the time free!

Bad time of year for me unfortunately - would be happy to help but heading off tomorrow and won’t be back in Melbourne until the new year now. If you aren’t in a rush I can assist then.

    Help required in Melbourne!

When I lived in Yarraville and couldn’t bleed the brakes on my 2a I took it to Dennis at Footscray brake service in Geelong rd. I drove in low range and nipped up the hand bake and used all the side streets.

Does a vacuum bleeder work ok for the S2?

If so I can give you a hand on the evening of 27th after work.

Yes, vac bleeding or pressure bleeding from the MC seems to be the most effective way, but I’ve also had luck with gravity bleeding over many hours too.
