    The Dutch Vietnam

    Not many know about the Dutch army in Indonesia after WW2. My interest is that my Father, who fought for the 2/14 Battalion in Borneo, because he was late in the War, he was transferred to a holding battalion, I guess, it was first in , first out back home. Now after the war these Aussies were tasked with keeping the peace between the Dutch, and The locals. In effect, the first Australian peacekeepers. Dad said to me the first thing they had to do was to stop the locals bowing to them. The Japanese used to beat them, if they didn't bow.
