For those of us with a Play Station Portable (I have mine to replace my iPod and to watch movies on in the tent on a rainy night).... good news! The next iteraration of the firmware - 3.00 is going to support GPS mice via the USB port on top. Japan is apparently releasing the software at the end of this month in Japan, and it will eventually utilise the UMD drive to access stored maps to street level. Australia might not ever get these, but who knows....

Given the size and clarity of the display - it'll all be interesting to see it in operation when we get ours over here. Even if we don't get street mapping - just the GPS basic functions will be nice - i.e. position, speed, etc. Hard drives are coming too, so it may allow us to burn maps to this rather than to 2Gb memory cards. Windscreen and dash mounts are already available.

One device to look after our music, video and GPS needs. Nice!
