If you were to fit Johnson rods to Disco3 does it alter the angle of the Axle if so after fitting Larger tires say 32's eg: 275/65/r18 would this bring the axles back to correct position ?

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding you, but the size of your tyres wont affect the angle of your axle shafts.

The Johnson rods will change the angle, and there are two ways to change it back - remove the johnson rods, or lower the diff and subframe. The latter option is not very common, and is likely expensive!

I have the GOE adjustable rods, which i can change back to standard height. Others use Llams.

If you are keen to run larger tyres, than AFAIK you will either have to live with the larger axle angle, or lower the subframe(s).

Ok so at the moment i run 255/60/r18 (30 something inches) the Johnson rods lift the body height 2"( which can also be changed back to standard ),so the axles will be on a more acute angle because the Air suspension struts are fixed to the out side of the A frame nearest the hub. If i run tires that are 275/65/18 which are recommended by JR'ds 32" then will these tires alter the angle? I am not up on these Technical things hehe , so if that dosn't work will it affect the axles /CV's in any way being on a more acute angle?

No they won’t, disco tastic nailed it. No tyre alone will alter axle angle...ever. Jonson rods, goe llams will when used in raised height. And overall its not great to run permanently in a raised height due the cv wear and load I believe.

MMM yeah i understand what you are saying turtle60 . Most blokes ive spoken to say i should get llams which you can alter whenever ,but the budget is the killer haha .Maybe wait till ive got the extra doh to buy llams.!! Hate something to crap out like CV's .Can't be bothered with the thought of taking rods in and out every time you want to go off road !!!

Most blokes ive spoken to say i should get llams which you can alter whenever ,but the budget is the killer haha .Maybe wait till ive got the extra doh to buy llams.!! Hate something to crap out like CV's .Can't be bothered with the thought of taking rods in and out every time you want to go off road !!!

As far as the rods go, you "adjust" them rather than swap them out, well at least with the GOE rods. I dont think the johnson rods are adjustable. Its fiddly, and you may get muddy, but its waaaay easier than swapping rods.

Another option is using a GAP IID tool to have some preset height settings. The tool is used for fault code reading as well as adjusting other things and data logging. A must have for remote travel, and it can change your height at will. Again, more fiddly than Llams, but much cleaner than rods.

Plus 2 for the GAP tool. That’s what I have for the above reasons and offers three user selectable height options. Perfect. Llams probably more user friendly but if I go into limp mode in the middle of nowhere at least I’ve got a fighting chance to sort it. I did have the goe rods but sold them after GAp tool and change the settings with iphone. Better than getting out anyday.

Well then those GOE rods could be the go.I have seen the site, but there is no explanation on how they work.
What GOE rods would you recommend ,the two way or the three way? they are only made out of what looks like Conveyor belt or old mud flap hahaha Mighty expensive really but efficient so can't complain.Paying for the idea i guess .
