    Centre armrest usb

    Hi all,

I can't get the usb connector in the centre armrest cubby hole to recognize any usb stick I have. Just get a message pop up on centre display asking to insert a usb even though one is plugged in.

Is it fussy as to type or brand of usb?

On my 2011 it can be very fussy about which usb drives it will or will not read, I never did work out why but just keep trying different ones. If usb has too large a capacity it can be a problem too.

Yes it is the USB port under the centre cubby lid. Have tried severl USB keys but no joy. Maybe they have too large a capacity. The smallezt I had was 8G.

8Gb worked for me, I think the formatting is important (but pretty standard) as are the file types.

I used mp3 files but there is at least one other that is supported, I think it is in the manual. I wouldn't mix file types and keep the sub folders to a minimum.

I have changed over to a Bluetooth streaming dongle to the ipod connector as it suits me better now.

    Thanks for that kenl.
Will get a couple of different 8G ones, format, load some test mp3's and try again.
Otherwise it might be the lead not having continuity from the lid being opened and closed so many times as it is a 2010 D4 HSE.
