Puma 2.2 engine clatter is noticeably louder after 96,000km
Hence seeking advice re fuel rail pressure...what should it be?
at idle?
at 100 kmhr / 2200rpm?

SupporterAt idle, low 20s.. I would be running some CRD cleaner/ lube through the tank, or even 200mls of non synthetic 2 stroke oil. Also worth a pilot relearn after 96k.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

3.5K psi at idle
21K psi at 2200 rpm flat road 100kph
31kpsi is about 22k Kpa

Interesting that the 2 stroke mix comes into the equation again.
I did it all the time with my D2 td5.
It was originally considered not to add 2 stroke to the common rail engines and I'm very interested why the change of heart Justin.
It did the td5 no harm over 100s of 1000s of kms.
I would assume injector pressures in the td5 would be as high as the common rails?
This was originally one the reasons not put any additives into your common rail diesel fuel.
Any enlightenment would be much appreciated.
