No rubber strip on my ARB bar, there is a self adhesive rubber trim that sticks to the plastic flare after trimming though.

						Supporterpic 1-2 D4
guard length 106-107cm
headlight height 23-24cm
pic 3-4 D3
guard length 110cm
headlight length 27cm
pic 5 refer to the black rubber that sits below the headlight
Opp lock bull bars (not sure about ARhave a rubber strip that is bolted to the bottom of the headlight to take up the gap difference otherwise D4 would have a larger gap visible between top of bullbar and bottom of headlight. So if your thinking of fitting a D4 headlight to the D3 you need to cut 3-4cm off the guard to make fit or purchase a D4 guard.

Supporterwell then how does the ARB bar make up for the differences in the d3 headlight height compared to the d4, unless they are both diff bars.

Looks to me like your bar has been mounted low. See photo of my 2011 D4 with ARB bar almost flush with headlight lower edge.
Or is the headlight height different between D3 and D4 models?
Makes getting the headlight Assy out a PITA, but doable, maybe that's why the infill strip?

ARB bars are cut differently in so far as the trailing edge of the centre top panel of the bar is cut to allow the bar to sit in front of the grille panel, not under it.
This allows the bar to sit flush with the bottom of the headlights/side guards for a neater overall look than the OL bar that sits below the grille. This leaves gaps under the headlights requiring the infill rubbers that they supply.
This didn't occur with the D3 and it's taller headlight, the bottom of which was flush with the bottom of the grille.

SupporterNo the bar is mounted correctly as i have fitted two opp lock bars myself and the D4 uses the rubber strip below the headlight to make up the short fall in height. My D3 has the 4 holes in the bar for the nuts to secure rubber strip to bar so must be a d4 bar fitted to the d3. Actually i think the opp lock bar is the same for the two models and when fitted to the d3 need to fill in the 4 holes with rubber to cover up the holes.

Supporterpic 1 - Opp lock bull bar on D4 with rubber strip
pic 2 - Opp lock bull bar on D3 with 4 holes per headlight to fit said rubber strip, what i have done on the D3 is fit some black plastic to fill in the holes. This bar is for a D4 hence the holes in the bar, i think the earlier D3 bars would have no holes per se.
