    Back from Rover Park

Hey Guys and Girls. just back from Rover park, Arrived late friday night. Got to sleep late saturday morning. Nice drive on saturday am, Steinzy poped a rear air bag about 10 mins into trip, we slipped it back on and it poped again, these bags are new only a month old so a trip to the suppier will be happening on tuesday I bet. Another disco with 300tdi had the fuel pump die and still would not start so we traced it to the electrics and had to put a new power wire to the pump so it would go. Other than that the weather was good and a few nice trips around the park. It was good to meet some nice rover friends from the brissie club.

No doubt some one will post some pics,

    glen

Got back last night as well, great weekend with the family and my kids loved it. It really is a great spot but I wish I had allowed longer as I didn't really got to do much "driving".

Will definitely organise another trip later in the year and will be suggesting that we run 2 groups each day to make sure those who want to go harder can and those who don't can choose more suitable tracks.

Great place though and great hosts.....lookijnmg forward to going back already!!

Yep that was my TDI that gave up the ghost and I would like to say WOW what a fantastic bunch of guys no sooner had the Disco stopped and Dranged arrived to tow me down to the campsite. Then Hans the park owner and Dranged decided it was my vacuum pump so Hans ordered the pump from Land Rover Casino at 4pm Friday arvo it arrived delivered by Hans to our campsite 10.30am Saturday morning.

Dranged then spent the next few hours removing and refitting the pump, it was then that Discoute chipped in and between the two of them the TDI finally sprung back into life.

So to Dranged and Discoute I am in your dept, you both help to turn what was going to be a very poor weekend into a fantastic adventure. I thank you both sincerly.

I beleive this to be the best group of guys and families in one club I have ever had the pleasure to spend a weekend away with.

To The Gold Coast Land Rover Owners club Thankyou all

Ps: Dranged and Discoute my shout on Thursday night

Gutted I missed the racing but I would have probably busted my gear box anyway trying to flog you all  Did the TDi tear it up then?? How did it go against Jeff in the TD5? As I left he seemed to be showing up a few V8's in the group 8)

Glad you enjoyed the trip Mark, really enjoyed yours and everyone elses company and am already looking forward to the next trip away.....will definitely be making it a 3 nighter though.......and might try and leave the kids......too much washing up

Yes the kids do make hard work of it.

    The races

    I beat Steinzy 2 out of 3 and Jeff's TD5 1 out of 2 ( I missed a gear change)

So I think over that shortish track my TDI and Jeff's TD5 were clearly the fastest.

Although I am sure the V8 guys would like to say different

I did have 2 big advantages

1/ I was the only manual ( rev to 2500 and slip the clutch )

2/ I have drag raced for 20 years

    But it was a blast

    Aye, Mick[/b][/quote]

Just posted a thank you on the Rover park a goer.

Thanks to all it was a great weekend Mick and Steinzy well put together Nice to meet everyone else amazing group of people. Great trips and even better camp fires. :?: Also big thanks to Justin (DRanged) as he seemed to be everywhere this weekend. Thanks for pulling me out of the challange climb and the chain saw.

Noz as to the drag race!!!! Although we did not race I did get even with Jeff in his TD5. So the V8s did have at least 1 victory (the fact he missed the start is not my fault).

Till the next time, oh as asked before did anyone pick up a stabilizing bar from my caravan on Monday morning as yes it did snap off even after getting through the 1st raven.

Sounds like a great time was had by all, I had to console myself with the latest 4WD mthly which by the way has heaps of landies in it, they also had a back dated copy in there and lo and behold it had an article on you guesssed it "Rover park" just to add salt to the wound. Am hanging out for when I can get along to the next trip. Also we all know if the D3 was there, well it could have been a different outcome in the drags  . Been practicing on road hammering through the gear changes 8) ,

    Regards

    Stevo

    Bugger!

Getting back early to frig about with ABS sensors, unpack and undust doesn't make up for missing the drags

Although my tyres were still warm from the unintentional burnouts I did attempting those hills 8O - I somehow think traction would've been needed in the drags!!!

Slainte' for a great weekend guys. You've got yourselves a new member here!

But I dont think your gearbox would have held up for too long Bolts, reving her up in Neutral and pulling her into drive isnt healthy
