    12000km +

Well so far have done 12346 kms on car so far no real problems the warning to add Ad blue has come up this allows plenty of kms before it becomes a problem, going to let it get lower before topping up have 30 ltrs sitting in garage at the moment.
have not done much to the car yet just added a brake controller for my trailers, going to fit a traxide daul battery system soon. Love the heated seats on a cold morning and the cold setting on a hot day now wondering if I should have gone with a heated steering wheel.

Trying to get the right engine oil as I feel the 26000 Ks is to long for 1st service have the oil filters sitting at home surprised to see that they are not spin on maybe the engines run a higher oil pressure? one trip to Brisbane done and much easier to do than in my DII. went for the top sound system well worth it in my opinion as I like it loud and clear (home system has 9 Speakers).

Will be towing up car trailer in August with gear to work on my house (currently rented but might as well repair what needs fixing) so will see how it goes.

Have taking it off road once made easy work of obstacles will do a beach run at some stage, want to check out the trans sump to see if oil can be changed or need to do the same mod as the D4s?
I keep a log book for work purposes and the car remembers the trips so I just check it with phone and fill it out once a month and used the remote start on those stinking hot days so when I hopped in car the internal temp was down.

Have been checking out diagnostic tools but none for the D5 yet but give it time hopefully out by the time warranty is done.

    Oil Sample kit ordered

I should get to the 14000 km mark before filling the ad blue tank, plenty of warning before you cannot start the engine, I am going to change engine oil and take a oil sample and will take one of rear diff as have to send two off to lab,
(Castrol labs) this will be next weekend and will be the 1st time that I would have looked under the car properly. I will post the results and then will take a second sample before taking it for dealer service.

I've just had the annual service at about 19,200km. As my services were pre-paid, AdBlue top ups are included. This was done early January at about 10,000km, at the same time as the second oil change for the early service warning issue. The N222v2 update was applied then and the service intervals are now what they should be.

I'm sure your oil samples would show a high level of wear metals and I agree 26,000km seems a long time to run on the first oil. So while the early service warnings may have been annoying, I'm glad to have had (free under warranty) oil changes at 3 and 6 months.

    2 samples taken

Took engine oil and front diff oil samples, may do the rest depending on the results, changed the engine and oil filter easier than the Dll.

Disco 5 SD4 lag and surge

I have an ongoing problem with this vehicle. Done about 6000km so far and no change to the problem of lag and surge in acceleration. It's been back to the dealer 4 times and they say there is no fix for the issue. When accelerating from low speed under 5kmph depressing the accelerator gives a sluggish response and you press further there is a sudden surge and the vehicle leaps forward. Have had all software updated and all faults checks completed (there were none). This is scary when in cued and slow traffic and on two Occassion come close to hitting the vehicle in front of me. Have to say Land Rover Aust, whilst slow to respond, are working on the issue and I'm hopeful of a resolution. Have read about similar problems in these vehicles but mostly countries outside Aust. Anyone else having this problem.

This really should be in a stand alone thread.

The only discussion I've seen on this matter is in this thread. Laggy Accelerator Fix? - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum

There is some talk about a PCM upgrade but I haven't inquired locally as I've been away.

    oil sample results back

no real surprises as expected the metal readings to be high, not sure if all the oils get changed on 1st service, but most of the construction and mining machines all oils get changed 1st service.

From my sample results on my D3 the front diff is hard on the oil - and I get similar levels of iron in a similar time frame as well so I doubt that the iron levels will get better. I've recently tried changing viscosity of my diff oil as a trail to see how it goes
