On the Munja Track, West Kimberley

Just completed the Munja Track 300km from Mt Elizabeth Station to Bachsten Creek camp and back. Very useful being able to lift the car another 40mm or so above off road height for the really gnarly jump-ups. The D4 has been flawless, but thirsty towing a 2 ton trailer over those conditions - 17l/100km ish.
No flat tyres, no damage, apart from a number plate that shook itself loose.
Will post some photos and videos when we get back to Broome. The inter webs here at Mt Elizabeth are scratchy at best.

Great to see you had an uneventful trip. After limping the last 5km back to Mt Elizabeth Station, I had to drop the main fuel tank and clean out that lovely bacterial black gunk that was blocking the low pressure fuel pump sock filter. Assume it was a water/dirty batch of fuel we had got some were earlier.

Took the best part of 5 hours in a open paddock with just me and the missus...was on the limits of my pay grade, but all ran well after.

The Munja Track/Bachsten Camp and camping on the cliffs at James Price Point were two of the many highlights we experienced in the Kimberley. Certainly less congested compared to the main attractions along the Gibb River.

    Cheers

I would consider 17l/100km pretty reasonable particularly if you were doing a bit of low range work. Travelling slowly towing 2T will add at least 15% to your fuel use. Our planning average with a 2.5T AOR Q+ on bitumen is 17.5 at 110kph and closer to 20 if we have to go to LR. Off bitumen and on slow tracks we plan and see 18-20
