Most people just pick up a set of their way up, and drop them off on the way back. Which ski field are you heading to?
As a side note - If you havent fitted chains before, best to have a practice in the car park - doing in for the first time in snow, in the dark, most likely cold with cars going by isnt fun. Its worth chucking in something to kneel on, some gloves, a rag and a head torch.
cheers

 Dave,
Great advice. I still have flashbacks to nights fitting them to my LC Torana on the Alpine way in my early 20's (circa 1990) when working up there for a few season. Also, had some interesting moments cause I didn't want to fit them so kept driving......
Cheers David.
