Different diameter tyres on the front vs the rear won't harm the front diff, I'd be more worried about your centre diff , or viscous coupling or whatever these things run .

Part number TAG500140 appears to be the front diff complete for the 2.7 TDV6 D3 & 2.7 RRS and the 3.0 TDV6 D4 so likely also for the 3.0 TDV6 RRS and the 2.7 D4.

They should be interchangeable. Check the part numbers to confirm.

The D3/RRS range have different diffs depending on engine fitted (and gearbox) but but a diff out of a D3 will fit a RRS if the same engine and auto is fitted to both vehicles.

The front differential is available in three ratios. V8 and V6 petrol engine vehicles use a front differential with a final drive
ratio of 3.73:1 and TdV6 diesel engine vehicles use a final drive ratio of 3.07:1 for vehicles with manual transmission, and
3.54:1 for vehicles with automatic transmission.

    Technical Specs

So a 3.54:1 diff will be interchangeable between TDV6 Sports and D3.

I've just fitted a TAG500140 3.54:1 front diff to my L320 (RRS) TDV8. Interchangeable as long as you get the correct ratio, as others have stated. The L319 TDV6s run this same diff.
