    Defender brake pipe woes

Using little of my intelligence, I severed the rear LH brake pipe on my 2002 110 while trying to pursuade the a frame ball joint out. Swearing ensued. Having no brake pipe bending experience or tools I ordered what I believed to be the replacement part. (SGB112410).

However when it arrived I didn't fit quite right (bends appeared slightly wrong and screwed in very loosely to the Junction /calliper) and when topped up with brake fluid, it leaked from the Junction.

Acording to some research a 110 has 10mm brake fittings so I assumed I had 3/8 Imperial on the new brake pipe which would explain its slight looseness. I then purchased two adapters BQ49 from this site BrakeQuip Thread Adaptors - Sealing Combination | WBBHS
However the male 10mm fitting will not fit into the calliper(too large) , I assume due to the thread size.

Long story short, I'm wondering what the more experienced mechanics amung us would do or does anyone know the part number if you have a 2002 110?

Also I found this previous thread
( Help please - part number - rear brake pipe )
that appears to be the same issue however reversed.
Would ANR2779 be the part number I'm after?

    Thanks in advance.

If you put ANR2779 into the part No finder on the LR Workshop page, it says it's for a salisbury axle. Is that what you've got? I'd suggest not unless modified

I carry a few meters of Bundy pipe and a flare tool. Takes up no space or weight, you can easily make any brake pipe you like for any LandRover using the original ends .

you can make double flares or bubbler flares with one of these, professional result every time,
a piece of bundy pipe costs next to nothing from any brake place.

    Hi Don,
Yes, it has a Salisbury. Not sure if modified by po or because it has an early 2002 chassis number and built before rear rover diffs.
Sounds like that part might be a winner then, CheersDSC_0759.jpg
