    Thomas Winch on a D4?

Would anyone know if I can fit my Thomas 8000lb winch on my 2013 D4? The pic is of a very similar one. The only difference is that mine is the same electric but has a backup crank handle.

My D4 is currently stock, so no bullbar, hidden winch cradle, etc.

Not even with a bullbar? I quite like the winch so it’d be a shame to sell it

    Wouldn't a 8000lb winch be a bit undergunned for a heavy 4WD like D4?, 12000lb or more would be a better match.

Not enough space for that motor/gearbox orientation plus way under powered.

Unfortunately no. That configuration won’t fit.

And as mentioned above - 8000lb is light on.

Something like an 11XP Runva (exceptional winch btw) is the go.

Bummer. Looks like the Thomas is going on the market. Sad face.

I haven’t heard about Runva before, but ip67 rating, descent guarantee, local agents, plus not planning on needing the winch more than a couple of times in its life means Runva might be the way to go.

With Any make of electric winch if you don't use it you will loose it.
All you have to do is to run out 15-20m of rope and wind it back on every month or so, If you don't do this then there is a very real chance that when you actually need the winch it will fail and it only takes a couple of min to do.

Also look at the kings domin8tor and grande 12k winches, under $400 and work well.
    Put a grande on mine.

My bad, I’m aware of this. I meant using it in anger because I’ve gotten the car completely stuck
