Question PUMA Alternators - Are there other vehicle makes that run the same Alternator?

    Guys...
Having experienced a Alternator failure on the missus Prado when we up the Cape in 2014 and seeing how quickly the battery drains on these CRD Diesels, it got me thinking of looking around for a SPARE Alternator for my Puma that I can keep in the car just in case my Puma ones fails on a remote outback trip

I was wondering if there was another vehicle out there that runs an Alternator that would be compatible with the PUMA(2.4)? I know with previous 4WD's that I've own that this is the case, so I'm hoping it is with the PUMA?

So, what vehicles out there that would be compatible ??

Good to know but a mates 130 failed on his under 100k on the clock. Not sure how much the tracks he was driving played a part though...
I had our Prado 150 failed at the 100k mark as well... You don’t go far w/o a charging alternator in a CRD...
Just thought about having a spare for those remote trips...

Cheap! When my L322 alt bearings collapsed earlier this year, the RRP for a replacement alternator was over $3,000. If the replacement had been done at a dealer, including labour, I reckon the bill would have been $5K or more. (The alt is inside the front of the engine.)
