Personally, I always check the oil level before I leave the place where the vehicle was serviced. An acquaintance of mine left the dealer in his near new Lexus after a service. 30kms down the road, he was in need of a new engine. One service "technician" thought that the other one had refilled the sump!

An update, if anyone is interested lol, I ended up putting in over 3L of oil in to finally get the dipstick to read after leaving it overnight. It reads just below half and I’ll keep it about there as it’s next service at LRA will be in 4K, and keep some oil in reserve of course in case I need to top it up. I’d have to postulate that my engine seems to use more oil when running on the 170BAS Remap, so something to be mindful of. Not sure if anyone else has had a similar experience. Needs more regular monitoring from now on to prevent further changes of undies
