An EV from 1910

So it seems EVs aren't such a new thing after all.
The motor museum in Wynyard in Tasmania, where we are today, contains a beautiful example of a 1910 Waverley Coupe, with a 50 mile range.
Remarkably, this car has NOT been restored, but is in beautiful original condition, and driven regularly at rallies.
Just a lovely machine.

Indeed, they were quite popular for a while until petrol became more widely available and the battery tech of the day didn’t have a chance after that unfortunately.

Those of you old enough to remember Walt Disney comic books would remember that Grandma Duck drove a Detroit Electric. Giltrap's museum on the Gold Coast had one.
