Just now I decide to take a look and see if anyone has bid... Bugger me it's sold!

    No, you're welcome.

Just wait til you get my bill for the therapy !

On the good news side, I just sold some Phantom stuff on Ebay, made $25 on something 'her indoors' would otherwise have thrown out, and nobody has asked me to send it to Nigeria.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

There must some wealthy buggers in Nigeria hey!
There always offering me good jobs, a percentage of other people's money, and some friends of the King and Presidents son are always wanting to put money in my bank account!!!

The last P76 I sold I put on the net and in Unique Cars, whilst I had calls from all over OZ, and eventually sold it to a guy in Vic., I had "someone" from Nigeria, offering to pay USD $10,000 + transport. He said he was a collector and would deposit the funds into my account, prior to me even doing anything.
What a great bloke. I strung him out for about 3 weeks, everyday he was onto me about my bank details, before I told him where to go, by
questioning his lineage and asking him about his relationships with goats.

If they put the money into your account in advance via paypal or direct deposit then who gives a toss where they want it sent. Matt

So why didn't you just invoice him & wait a week or so for payment through Paypal? It's always worth a try, and rule one is you don't send the item till payment has been received so what have you got to lose? I don't see how they could take money OFF you through Paypal when you are the one issuing the invoice and Paypal only operates using email addresses which they know from Ebay anyway (no account numbers). It's not like the scams where they ask for your bank account details and as long as you change your password occasionally and keep it fairly random...

I often toy with the idea of opening an empty bank account to try it on with these dodgy Nigerian scam artists since I heard a story of a guy who actually got money out of one of them. Not the 25% of the millions of dollars they were proposing, but a few bucks just for his "costs". It actually worked, they sent the setup costs (presumably to lure him further) and then never followed through. They might have tried but found the bank account he setup was bone dry.
