replacing camshaft and fuel pump belts Disco 4 SDV6 Engine

I have Two Quotes of $2600 and $2800 for replacing Camshaft and Fuel Pump drive belts on SDV6.
Is this about the right pricing ? It seems dearer than pricing I have seen previously.
Can anyone quote current pricing on this job?

Thats way too much,is that a dealer or a good Indie?

Mine is 2.7 so easier to do,at a guess i think it was quite a bit less than $2K,maybe $1500,but i can't remember.

Probabky a bit long ago, but Southern Landrover in Cannington WA charged me 1800 to do both belts on my SDV6, done body on.

So your quotes seem about a grand too high. The cost is in the labour, the belts and idlers are cheap. Also get them to replace the front crank seal whilst there. The seal is about 30 bucks but its a mission to get to. Needs a bit of care to install correctly too.

Labour at my indie for a 2.7 was $1200 - this included changing the oil pump - I supplied parts. So for a basic belt change with parts it should be around $1500.

Have you tried PCB in Adelaide? Might be worth a call to Pete to see what his price is.

PCB in Adelaide did mine about 3 months ago for $1200. It cost a bit more because of dual battery set up. Body on job.
