Disco Series 2 V8 and Gas Tanks

Calling Disco V8 owners who have their Discos on gas. I am intending to buy a Series 2 V8 and need to know what gas system - particularly tank configuration - anyone is using. I am interested in the multiple tank ( scuba type ) set-up that is available, one that minimises the area the tank influences in the rear. Any info will be appreciated.

    Hi Maggsie
You will need to do a bit of research. As far as I know the engine management system on the Disco2 isnt happy with a dual fuel setup.I contacted a few converters around Perth 12 or 18 months ago when I was looking at a Disco2V8, and all said no can do.The newer systems may be able to match the Discos electronics,MickRangies contact would be worth talking too.
You try and find a Disco2 V8 on gas, they dont exsist, whereas there heaps of the Disco1 V8s on gas.

    Guy's,
With the D11 dual fuel dillemas, would it be a solution to install an aftermarket ECU such as a wolf or haltech that has dual setting or multiple setting capabilities. Means the MAF can be thrown away as well.

Thanks for the info, I am intending to buy the vehicle in Victoria as there are more available and marginally cheaper plus I have a wholesaler who will be looking after me.

Update on the gas. Looks like the Disco 2 V8 management system and gas are not compatable, apparently the 'OBD 2 System has innumerable sensors that create havoc when the dual fuel is installed. Therefore the V8 is a non event for me. I'll have to look at a diesel disco or patrol.
