    What is this connector for?

Checking the underside of the car for any damaged wiring I came across this connector.

it’s located next to the fuel filter - appears not to have a home?

also curious. how hard is it to drop and empty/clean the fuel tank?

Dont know what the connector is for but i have dropped the tank to replace the fuel pump I did it on my driveway and had maybe 15L of fuel in the tank and i definitely needed a second pair of hands. I found that the "quick release" connectors were all different and one in particular wasnt quick to release, but they went back together easily.

One thing I noted was that the inside of the tank was spotless. I only ever ran 95RON or better and there was no sign of corrosion or gunk in the tank, so unless you know its dirty i dont know if id bother. This was at about 160-170k km.

    That’s valuable feedback. Thanks!

I guess I’m still curious about what would have made my HPFP die a year or so ago, didn’t want to go down that path again if it was caused by dirt and that dirt was still there

I’d like to clean the filter for the LPFP if i got in there.

assuming a tank was dirty, what would you clean it with?
